Since its inception in 1981, the Newcastle Branch has been responsible for delivering a varied and exciting program for the teachers in the Hunter region and their students.
Our annual program includes:
- Annual workshops in Newcastle, Muswellbrook & Maitland
- Junior Music Festival in June of each year
- Quarterly student concerts on Thursday evenings in Adamstown, since 2007
- Professional Learning seminars throughout the year
- Sponsorship of the Lake Macquarie Eisteddfod instrumental sections in September
- Sponsorship of the MTA NSW Piano Scholarships: Nan Price Memorial & Joyce Blewitt Award, at the Newcastle Music Festival in August
- Masterclasses and Meet the Artists programs with Musica Viva
- Social activities, discounted concert tickets and fundraising events
- Annual General Meeting in December
