This concert is for advanced students from Grade 7 and above to have performance experience.

Performers will perform one to two whole works, with a combined length of between 7 and 10 minutes.

Each performer will receive an adjudicator's report and places will be awarded according to the grade level. Highly commended may also be awarded to students.

The Margaret Chalmers Scholarship will also be adjudicated at this concert.

The Margaret Chalmers Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship has been established by a bequest to the MTA, to enable study in Australia or abroad, by a student of any instrument or voice. Two contrasting pieces must be played. Performers must be aged 25 years or under, be residents of NSW, and be students of teachers who are MTA members. Two scholarships will be awarded in 2023, each to a value of $1000, one for an instrumentalist and one for a vocalist. Any performers who meet these conditions may be considered for this scholarship.

Previous winners of the Margaret Chalmers Scholarship are ineligible to enter.
