Ann Hoy OAM

I have been teaching privately for 34 years and since 1996 have held the position of Head of Keyboard Studies at Tamworth Regional Conservatorium fo Music. In 1997 I formed the inaugural Conservatorium Youth Training Orchestra and continue to direct this group. Prior to joining the Conservatorium saff I was Director of Music at Calrossy School in Tamworth for 14 years- teaching both privately and Board Course Music in years 7-12 as well as directing the school orchestra and numerous ensembles.

During my teaching career I have completed numerous pedagogy courses given by world renowned master teacher from Genoa Conservatorium- Lidia Baldecchi-Arcuri and attended many Professional Development Programmes directed by leading Australian Teachers in technique- harmony and teaching methods such as Koday- Carl Orff- Suzuki and Australian Music.

In 1995 I was invited by Christopher Norton to review his commentary of supplementary teaching notes for the works currently included in the AMEB
Syllabus.

In 1998 I was awarded the AMEB Shield for Most Outstanding Results (Piano) in NSW during 1998 for Preliminary to Grade 6.
