Daniel Sakoulas
Daniel Sakoulas is a professional teacher of piano, flute, singing and theory (AMEB). He has over 20 years of experience of teaching private students.
He completed his Bachelor of Music in performance with Jocelyn Fazzone (federal examiner, AMEB) obtaining both the AMusA and LMusA. During his Honours degree, Daniel was under the tutelage of Elizabeth Koch OBE (Associate Professor Elder Conservatorium, Adelaide). Other distinguished teachers he has studied with include Rosamund Plummer (former principal piccolo, Sydney Symphony Orchestra) and Geoffrey Collins (principal flute, Adelaide Symphony Orchestra).
Daniel studied piano with Rosalind Carlson OAM (composer, MTA council), Lyn Morgan (federal examiner, AMEB) and Erica Booker (Suzuki teacher trainer, Sydney Conservatorium of Music) obtaining both the AMusA and LMusA.
Daniel also commenced singing lessons with Dorothy Mewes, (vocal health trainee with the late vocal scientist Jo Estill), Dawn Walsh (understudy to the late Joan Sutherland, Opera Australia) and Patricia Johnston (Opera Australia) obtaining the Certificate of Performance, AMEB. He is currently undergoing further diploma examinations.
Other qualifications include a diploma in musical theatre from the prestigious National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA). He has attended and performed in numerous masterclasses, Eisteddfods, workshops and music festivals.
Daniel has also undertaken Alexander Technique studies with Janet Davies (Sydney Conservatorium of Music) and incorporates the method into regular lessons.
