I am a registered, accredited, qualified and experienced piano teacher.   I offer Formal Piano, Piano for Leisure and Piano Contemporary preparation for examinations.  I also teach Music Craft, Musicianship and Theory.  I am available for examination accompaniment for groups of students.

While my first love has always been music, I do hold a Doctorate in Chemistry and have a background in teaching tertiary and secondary chemistry, science and mathematics.  This gives my piano teaching a much broader base of knowledge and a deeper understanding of the competing pressures students face outside of their piano training.  I have dedicated myself to piano pedagogy for the last 20 years and I find it fits in very well with the demands of being a mother of 4 children.

While I encourage my students to complete examinations and eisteddfods, I also specialise in motivating students using many other strategies.  I run an annual studio competition with various creative tasks, short term challenges and enticing prizes and awards.

I teach students aged from 4 to adult and have experience with several special needs piano students.   Raising my son, who has an autism diagnosis, has given me the confidence and insight to explore the gifts and challenges children with special needs must navigate.   I have love, respect and fascination for all learning styles and tailor lessons to suit each individual student.

I offer diverse opportunities for my students to perform solo, duets, trios and ensembles at my studio concerts.  My students attend group lessons to create student mentoring within the school, enjoy playing musical games in a fun atmosphere, develop improvisation skills, and use music to communication and express themselves socially.

I am a patient, friendly, kind, organised and reliable local teacher with a well-established home studio.  There is a comfortable waiting room for students to practise, study and work on various musical computer programs.  I own a Kawai grand piano for lessons and a Kawai digital piano in the waiting area for practising.
