MY MISSION

As a qualified Piano teacher, Music lecturer and Accompanist with over twenty years experience, I have striven to develop and maintain a high level of professionalism. I have succeeded in diagnosing areas of weakness in students, as a first and essential step in their transformation as learners. It is my belief that strong communications skills are also essential in the teaching of piano and accompaniment. I have made the development of these skills a priority because effective communication enables the imparting of knowledge, clear understanding and building of strong relationships with students, parents and colleagues.

I set high standards for myself as a lifelong learner and for my students as a means of achieving their full potential. To support these expectations, I have a strong commitment to achieving excellence in learning outcomes by providing my students with support that will result in realising their goals. To this end, I am open to and use new and innovative teaching strategies that accommodate the individual needs of students. Further, I believe in varying strategies and techniques to ensure a flexible, positive and encouraging environment in which students feel comfortable, are ready to learn and are motivated.

THE STUDY OF MUSIC IS A WONDERFUL, SPIRITUAL PRACTICE.
